Sometimes

Plastic vision

you cornered her in white.

Soon the puddles in your reflection

shook the silver air

and you were gone.

Then it was a moment

blue searching green

a tiny marriage–no–tiny sex act

a midday consummation

of recognized sorrow.

The children will be

bitter, sagging fruit.
